Responsibilities
•The Mixer Operator is responsible for creating batches of various water base epoxy ensuring quality and consistency in the production processes
•Accurately add the amounts of ingredients as specified in the formulas.
•Obtain batch tickets from the supervisor for batches to be loaded.
•Check the availability of raw materials for each batch.
•Check tanks, size, and valve and the tank is clean for batch loading
•Make sure the tank is labelled, product no. batch no.
•Load resin, wetters, and solvents using proper PPE, e.g. ground clamps and any other safety equipment as per batch ticket.
•Accurately weigh and mix all ingredients as per formula requirements to consistently create product to specifications.
•Dispose of ingredient containers in a clean and orderly manner to avoid any product contamination.
•Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves issues with equipment, devices, or products.
•Gathers and arranges raw materials.
•Maintains batch logs, and documentation including those outlining procedures, batch records, inventory, productivity, changeover, and progress.
•Follows all safety procedures.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
•Clean up any spills, Keep work area clean and clear of any obstacles.
•Mop and clean floors, once a day, using a floor scrubber.
•Wear all required PPE and observe all safety regulations.
•Report processing and equipment problems to the Supervisor and/or Site Manager.
•Observe and report to Supervisor and/or Site Manager, the effectiveness of processing, equipment, or method changes.
•Obtain and record processing data as prescribed by procedure, written processing instructions or directive from supervision.
•Ensure quality standards are maintained, within their ability to control, and insure properly obtained samples are gathered as required.
•Be constantly on the alert for safety hazards and report any found to the Supervisor and/or Site Manager.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-year experience of working as a batch mixer (food, pharmaceuticals, paint or chemical background preferred but not mandatory)
- Must be available to work full time for the long term for a permanent job
- Must be on legal status to work in Canada for a full-time job
- Must be comfortable with weight up to 50 lbs of lifting
- Must have good skills to perform basic maths calculations
-Must have external forklift certification on Counterbalance and Reach Truck
