Bilingual Accounts Payable Clerk- Ottawa, Gatineau

The bilingual Accounts Payable clerk will oversee the accounts payable for the company. Reporting to the Controller, you will prepare invoices for payment through methods such as reviewing vendor invoices, purchase orders, expense claims, travel advances and prepaid expense requests for accuracy. The successful bilingual Accounts Payable Representative will have at least 3 - 5+ year(s) of experience with full cycle Accounts Payable. Responsibilities of bilingual Accounts Payable clerk would include:
•Maintains Accounts Payable filing in a timely manner
•Sets up new vendor files as required
•Pulls filed documents as supporting documentation for billing purposes
•Assists with filing, archiving, and scanning of financial records
•Prints and files invoices approved by the Hong Kong office which are ready for payment
•Provides backup data entry for Accounts Payable as well as other administrative and support roles within the Financial Services team
•Work with the Controller to ensure supplier and vendors are consistently paid within established terms.
•Prepare accruals as required for period-end.
•Provide month-end journal accruals and working papers for site tracking initiatives
•Month-end close activities to meet deadlines.
•Assist with the ongoing development of AP processes
•Bilingual communication with vendors in both English and French

•Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as it is applied to Accounts Payable.

•Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Education & Skill Requirements
•Certificate or Diploma in bookkeeping.
•Minimum 3-5 year of relevant Accounts Payable experience.
•Experience working with Microsoft products (Excel, Outlook, Word).
•Experience administering accounts payable for a multi division company.
•Bilingual (French and English)
