Responsibilities
Claims Management with the assistance of Analyst or Specialist
- Determine claims eligibility, Create case management strategies for those accepted claims and carry out the planning and implementation of these strategies.
- Manage claims through discretionary decision-making in accordance with the Certificate of Insurance provisions that can differ from certificate to certificate.
- explain and clarify certificate provisions in an informative and empathetic manner.
Communications / Client Relations
- Develop positive and effective relationships through concise and clear explanation of benefits and adjudication in keeping with the ICA Statement of Principles.
- Provide appropriate and timely communication, while maintaining the confidentiality,
- deal with delicate and sensitive claims issues
- Investigate and handle claims appeals and complaints of level one nature.
Qualifications
As a Bilingual Claims Analyst, you must qualify with :
- High school diploma with 2 years post-secondary education
- Bilingual French
- Post-secondary education
- 2-3 years industry-related experience or in high volume customer service environment
- Insurance industry experience an asset
-Enthusiastic, willingness to learn and adaptability
-Completion of LOMA Level 1, CSI, or willingness to obtain.
SKILLS
Excellent communication skills especially verbal
Proven dedication to customer service
Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Good conflict resolution, negotiation and problem-solving skills
Strong team player and willing to work well with co-workers under pressure
Good PC skills including MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook; web-based applications
Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset
Knowledge of all creditor products and a variety of certificates of insurance (can be gained on the job)
