We are assisting one of our property management clients in finding a highly competent, experienced and ‘hands - on’ General Manager/ Property Manager to oversee the operations of the retirement properties in the Gatineau area. The chosen candidate must be independent, a quick thinker, has amazing problem solving skills and is able to lead a team of individuals with diverse personalities.

This is a permanent role: Salary is between 55,000- 65,000

Role is available ASAP.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Finance, Budgets and Procurement

• Preparing budgets and analyzing the spend of his team and the project overall
• Order Management and inventory : Understanding the various needs with regards to supplies and materials needed in the properties and the offices
• Ensuring 100% occupancy rate of the properties he/she is handling
• Ensuring the renewal of leases and timely payment of rent
• Marketing the space to potential residents and maintaining good relationships with possible clients.

Operations Duties:

• Providing information and updates regarding the properties he/she is overseeing on a regular basis
• Develop and implement various guidelines and procedures in relation to the logistics and operations of the team
• Manage and resolve complaints from the clients, stakeholder and residents
• Answering inquiries and complaints regarding the properties and its various facilities
• Ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the properties

Human Resources Duties:

• Completes the recruitment and hiring process for needed personnel within their properties
• Measure staff performance and productivity on a monthly basis and implement performance improvement plans as needed
• Supervise and train staff if needed


- Must be fluently bilingual in English and French
- Enjoys interacting and dealing with a more mature client portfolio
- Extensive Management experience ; 5 – 7 years of experience in people and process management is a must
- Excellent communication skills, able to comfortably speak to a variety of individuals – contractors, clients, vendors and other stakeholders
- Has a positive work value. Has a welcoming demeanor
- Excellent MS Office application skills and the ability to use various databases
- Loves working as a team but also work independently
