Our client is seeking an Senior Business Analyst - with Financial experience consultant on contract for a period of 12 months with possible extension in Edmonton, Alberta.

Reporting to the Program Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

Duties

Key Performance Indicators
 Developing and maintaining project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as schedule, budget, quality, etc. and
 Provide analysis of KPI’s to PM based on guidelines and standards.

Budgets & Financial
 Reconcile monthly expenses to vendor invoices, calculate accrual, update cost and resource management plan sheets to track capital and operating costs;
 Preparing and submitting detailed project financials as required and
 Tracking and reporting project financials.

Scheduling
 Work with Project Manager to draft and maintain project schedules using MS Project;
 Collecting, monitoring, and reporting progress on key milestones, issues, and decisions;

Status Report
 Setup meetings, coordinate/chair (at times) and capture, document, and distribute minutes and meeting outcomes;
 Update meeting lists on Google and maintain minutes documentation;
 Compiling and distributing project status reports (as required) and
 Update Google Sites for work stream activity, i.e. milestones, status reports, action item lists, risks / issue logs and deliverable progress.

Approval Processing
 Distribute information for review and/or approvals at the appropriate phase in the project and ensure the necessary approvals are collected and collated prior to project sign off;

Must Haves

The qualified candidate will possess these skills and qualifications:
 A University Degree in Commerce, Management, and Applied Business Administration with a major in Accounting is required; maybe supported with a CPA designation.
 Expert level skills with financial accounting within Microsoft Excel using pivot tables, Lookup/Reference Functions; such as address(), indirect(), transpose(), h/vlookup(), offset() for data manipulation, and Financial Functions.
 At least ten (10) years of project accounting experience within an active project management office (PMO) or other group responsible for capital projects that includes: financial planning, scheduling, invoice review/reconciliation, creation of PR, PO and JV’s, budgeting, cost performance tracking and NPT reporting.
 Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal is required;
 Must have experience with SAP, Microsoft Excel and G-Suite (G-Mail, Docs, Sheets, io.Draw, Drive and Sites);
 High acumen with Microsoft Office Applications is also expected.

Candidates with these skills and qualifications are desired:
 Experience working with Google Sheets, specifically Script Editor and functions like Address(), Importrange(), Indirect(), H/vlookup(), Transpose(),
 Proactive in identifying the needs of the project and ability to overcome potential barriers, to operate and deliver under adverse conditions and
