Responsibilities
Conducting stakeholder interviews and workshops to identify business needs, objectives, and requirements.
Analyzing and documenting business processes, workflows, and data flows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Creating and maintaining comprehensive requirement documentation, such as business requirements documents (BRDs), functional requirements documents (FRDs), use cases, and user stories, with clear and concise language.
In short, the BA needs to work with all project stakeholders to elicit requirements, document them, identify issues, and work with the development team and product owners to find solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Strong experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on requirements elicitation and documentation.
Demonstrated proficiency in capturing, organizing, and managing requirements in a catalog or repository, such as a requirements management tool, to ensure traceability, version control, and accessibility for stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Familiarity with the principles and practices of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), including the use of tools like Cucumber or SpecFlow, to collaboratively define requirements in a structured, user-centric format that promotes effective communication and understanding among business stakeholders, development teams, and testing teams.
Proven experience in working with third-party vendors or external partners to gather requirements, assess their capabilities, manage vendor relationships, and ensure that vendor deliverables align with business requirements and project objectives. This includes performance monitoring to ensure successful delivery of vendor-related requirements.
Strong experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on requirements elicitation and documentation.
Excellent communication skills, including active listening, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
Proficient in various techniques for requirements elicitation, such as interviews, workshops, surveys, and observations.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify problems, analyze complex information, and propose solutions.
Solid understanding of business process modeling techniques and tools, such as process flowcharts, swimlane diagrams, and data flow diagrams.
Familiarity with different types of requirements, such as business, functional, non-functional, and technical requirements.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and cross-functional environment, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
Strong documentation skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience with requirements management tools, such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
Familiarity with agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, and experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
Nice to Haves:
Domain knowledge in Telco is an asset.
Professional certifications, such as Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) or Project Management Professional (PMP), are a plus.
