    YOUR ROLE AS A BUYER:
    Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Component Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing and following up on components required for production and to achieve corporate objectives. The person we are looking for is known for his or her analytical skills and ability to work in a dynamic and constantly evolving work environment.

    Responsibilities
    •Develop long-term relationships with suppliers under his/her responsibility
    •Negotiate and implement risk mitigation agreements and approaches under his/her responsibility;
    •Coordinate the creation of purchase orders for all files under his/her responsibility according to the timelines of new product introduction and production projects and follow up on them;
    •Implement a supplier evaluation process, performance indicators and risk management tools;
    •Perform an initial evaluation of suppliers based on kdc/one Knowlton's prerequisites including the ability of suppliers to support production rate, quality and performance according to production needs, financial objectives and technical specifications;
    •Conduct constant market monitoring of suppliers, commodities, price indices (resin market, oil prices, major players, industry capacity picture);
    •Resolve supplier issues related to non-compliance and breach of agreement;
    •Identify, evaluate, recommend and participate in the development of new sources of supply in accordance with the purchasing policy;
    •Support the implementation of strategies to improve supply chain management in terms of quality, delivery and cost;
    •Act as an intermediary between the purchasing group, suppliers and various internal customers;
    •Collaborate and support other departments in the development of new products, according to project and production schedules;
    •Represent the company with suppliers, industry associations and other stakeholders in the field;
    •Actively participate in the development of training programs for different groups and act as a trainer;
    •Work closely with account managers, production planners, and operations;
    •All other tasks related to the job may be requested.


    Qualifications
    •Diploma in Operations Management, Accounting, Administration / equivalent experience;
    •Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in purchasing or a similar position;
    •Bilingual (French and English);
    •Exercise influencing power in order to bring all departments and suppliers towards a common vision;
    •Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools, recognized expertise in MS Excel or Access;
    •Proven experience in transforming business processes;
    •Experience with the main ERP (SAP, JD Edwards, Dynamics ...);
    •Professional experience either directly for a subcontractor of large corporations, food or pharmaceutical (an asset);
    •Knowledge of systems and practices in the field of pharmaceuticals, personal care, hygiene, medical equipment (an asset).

    SKILLS REQUIRED:
    •Excellent negotiating and business analysis skills;
    •Possess excellent interpersonal skills and ease of communication;
    •Demonstrate good judgment, sense of initiative and autonomy;
    •Possess skills in problem solving and crisis management;
    •Demonstrate excellent team spirit;
    •Be able to perform several tasks simultaneously;
    •Possess strong analytical skills, be organized and manage priorities well.
