Our Kitchener based client, a leader in the education industry, is looking for a .Net developer to join their team for an initial 6 month contract starting ASAP

Positions: Developer

As a member of the Integration & Innovation team, the incumbent will be responsible for complete development and support of the college website and ancillary access points/portals. This includes, but is not limited to: analysis, design, coding/development, implementation, documentation and on-going
support of all web applications and systems used by the institution to deliver business services to varied constituents, including students, applicants, prospects, alumni, employees and the general public. The incumbent will interact with IT functional teams to maintain and develop the website infrastructure and architecture, including integrations and feeds from relevant enterprise systems, and in accordance with proper quality, control and integrity standards.

Working closely with all departments in the college the incumbent will assist in the management of content and documents and as well as providing administrative support to online communities/collaboration. Demonstrated hands-on experience developing web services/sites using
modern development methodologies and toolsets is required.


Experience:
 Experience in SQL Scripting, SQL Server and API programming using C# and JSON.

Experience .NET Framework, an experience in .NET Core is an Asset.

 Experience in SAML based authentication server solution. (ideal)

 Experience in Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server.

Technical Skills:
 Intermediate SQL scripting - preferably for Microsoft SQL Server. Working knowledge of the creation of views, stored procedures, functions.

 Data access and API programming using C# and JSON. Knowledge of ASP.NET MVC and Web API using the .NET Framework (.NET Core is an asset)

 Understanding and working experiences in developing for tiered architecture applications using Service Orientation Architecture methodologies

 Modern programming techniques, methodologies, and practices such as Scrum, Static Code Analysis, Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and Source Control

 Experience using Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server an asset, both with TFVC and Git

 Experience with SAML-based authentication and Identity Server is an asset

 Ability to work independently and in teams
 Handle evolving requirements and adjusting to new demands
 Willingness to collaborate to support continuous improvements
