    Our Client, who is a well known financial services organization, is looking for a Calypso Developer (Engineer). This is a position for a highly talented individual able to work as part of a team, with members from around the world, that delivers global and local solutions. The primary application being worked on will be Derivatives Trade Processing.

    Advantages
    This is a 6 month contract in a hybrid work situation with 2 days in the office located in downtown Toronto and 3 days at home.

    Responsibilities
    Responsibilities will include
    • Work as a hands on application analyst/developer to provide application solutions to the business
    • Analyse business needs and recommend viable IT solutions to meet these requirements
    • Design, develop and implement IT solutions to meet business needs, according to established standards and best practices
    • Conduct and support testing to ensure the quality of all deliverables
    • Produce documentation on system solutions to ensure their maintainability and smooth implementation

    Qualifications
    Must Have Skills
    • Knowledge of Calypso (any version) as a back office/front office system gained through experience with settlements and accounting functionality
    • Will have a proven track record delivering Java stand-alone applications gained through commercial experience. Should have a good understanding of client server architecture and RMI based application.
    • Excellent knowledge of Core Java (preferably on Java8) and RMI
    • Excellent knowledge of Database and SQL Queries (preferably Sybase)
    • Good communication skills

    Summary
    Nice to Have Skills
    • Knowledge of derivative products, Investment Banking. IRD, FXO knowledge is add on.
    o Derivatives back office process, workflows for trade subscription, confirmation, settlement and cash accounting
    • Good knowledge of Unix and familiar with the troubleshooting around complex systems.
    • Familiar with DevOps tooling.
    • Experience in developing RESTful service and microservice architecture
    • Experience in developing messaging and streaming service, including Websphere MQ, ActiveMQ, Solace MQ, Kafka
