Position Details
Reporting to the Manager, Claims the Supervisor, Claims Auto PD will oversee a team of adjusters on both personal and commercial policies.

Responsibilities
What You Will Do
*Lead, manage and develop claim associates to maximize full performance potential
*Provide coaching on claims technical skills and strategic direction on claims handling
*Ensure adherence to corporate reserving practices
*Ensure equitable distribution of claims within the team
*Conducts regular feedback discussions with associates regarding training needs, development plans, execution of plans, and performance results
*Encourages continuous learning within the team
*Creates and delivers performance reviews along with action plans to manage performance
*Delivers exceptional customer service, internally and externally
Qualifications
Who You Are
*Post-secondary education, or equivalent industry experience
*A minimum of 3-5 years of claims handling experience; handling complex files
*A minimum of 1 year of leadership experience
*Relevant and progressive claims experience, inclusive of technical and coverage issues, management / resolution.
*Relevant and progressively more responsible claims experience, inclusive of technical and coverage issues, management / resolution.
*Working knowledge of the OAP 1 and Insurance Act and other legislation governing property and casualty insurance claims.
*Knowledge of principles and practices of claims settlement, policy wording, fraud investigations and coverage issues
*Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook)
*Knowledge of principles and practices of claims settlement, policy wording, fraud investigations and coverage issues
*Progressive experience in training / mentoring / coaching using a variety of approaches
