This position is critical in ensuring that our engineering team is delivering solutions with best-in-class technology, while striving for each solution to be cost effective, sustainable, reliable, and delivered at pace. This individual will be working with our partners to deliver the right solutions for each initiative, building strategic partnerships with business teams and internal IT teams.
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will combine both technical skills and collaboration with the people on your team. You should be proficient in delivering data center and cloud solutions in areas including server, storage, network, backup/recovery, database, middleware, and disaster recovery.
In addition to the solutions delivery for engineering, you will support the solutions that are rolled out by the team.

Responsibilities
What you will do:
Responsible for gathering system requirements and working together with the application architects and owners
Responsible for building and maintaining Storage strategy and roadmap
Review and validate virtualization infrastructure requests for workload placement and capacity planning
Debug technical issues inside a complex ecosystem involving virtualization, microservices, and legacy systems
Collaborate with the engineering and application teams to enable their applications to run on Cloud infrastructure
Aide in resolving complex problems with quick turnaround requirements in a fast-paced environment
Ensure effective administration and compliance with all internal processes, procedures, and controls to effectively manage risk, ensuring it remains within tolerance
Remain familiar with traditional and new technologies relating to infrastructure hosting and cloud
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with all partners in the organization in both IT and the business and translate requests into technical requirements.
Provide timely and responsive technical expertise both within and across departments and applications, which may include rotational on-call support and off-hours system maintenance
Actively participate as a part of the team to develop long and short-term strategies, set and achieve measurable goals and objectives, and develop action plans with meaningful but realistic deadlines
Maintain metrics vital to support reporting related to infrastructure performance and optimization
Research new technologies and invest time in relevant professional courses/conferences to maintain the currency of skillsets
Possess a continuous improvement mind-set and proactively look for opportunities to increase efficiencies, refine processes and cut costs within the department as well as throughout the business
Qualifications
What you will bring:
Strong knowledge of on-premises and cloud infrastructure, including server, storage, network, backup/recovery, database, middleware and disaster recovery
Extensive experience with VMware ESX cluster capacity management and optimization
Strong understanding of server hardware and related technologies
Extensive experience with enterprise storage solutions, such as SAN/NAS, and backup & recovery products
In-depth experience with Enterprise scale Active Directory multi-domain designs, implementation, and administration, including Domain Controllers, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Azure Active Directory and hybrid identity management
Extensive experience with security and compliance requirements for Active Directory environments
Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and Microsoft Azure
Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including DNS, DHCP, IP, TCP/UDP
Experience with infrastructure automation tools, such as Terraform, ARM or PowerShell, and IaC principles
Experience with various operating systems, including Windows server, Linux (e.g., Red Hat) and UNIX
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the IT industry with a focus on data center, cloud technology, and Active Directory management
Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in cloud, data center infrastructure, and Active Directory management
Experience with processes such as: SDLC, CI/CD Pipelines, Agile Methodologies
Superb communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels of the organization
Ability to define and negotiate priorities among partners ensuring successful delivery on commitments made
Exceptional analytical problem-solving ability
Highly self-motivated and willing to learn, explore, and be innovative
Microsoft Azure or AWS certifications, Agile methodology experience or training, and ITIL Foundations certification would be assets
