Responsibilities
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area while operating equipment according to established procedures.
• Support, communicate and implement Lean Manufacturing principles into all areas of responsibility.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts to determine
machining operation to be performed
• Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces
• Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools
to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as turning, milling, boring, drilling and other
operations
• Verify dimensions of machined parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications using micrometers
verniers, calipers, height gauges or other specialized measuring instruments.
• Report deviations from specifications and tolerances to supervisor
• Bar coding to record production
• Communicating critical information to supervisor and oncoming shifts including quality concerns, tooling issues,
maintenance concerns and production requirements.
• Other duties as required.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
• Completion of secondary school or equivalent.
• Demonstrated knowledge of machining, tools and their applications.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Familiar with SPC.
• Meticulous attention to detail is required.
• Ability to work shifts on a rotating basis.
• A 433a or 429a license would be an asset!
