Reporting to the Director, IT & Cyber Operations, this position will be responsible for defending and protecting employees and customers from the latest cyber threats and attacks that are a risk to Air Canada’s technology environment. The role will oversee an experienced cyber security team that is leading and innovating with next generation technologies and out of the box thinking. Traditional security operation centres (SOCs) are not able to keep up with the increasing cyber threat environment. We are looking for an individual that knows how to stay ahead in this fast-paced industry.Responsibilities:Develop and manage security monitoring for the Air Canada network and IT processing environment, including the security management and configuration of related hardware, software and networkPerform incident response, forensics and investigation activities with an emphasis on continuous improvement and agile processesCoordinate with operational groups and business units to set up and implement security monitoring measures to prevent and detect security incidents or breachesMonitor compliance with information security policies and proceduresRemediate risks identified by penetration tests and vulnerability assessments on internal and external applicationsProvide expertise in the definition, selection and implementation of IT Security and Business Continuity related controls to the IT DepartmentDevelop and communicate organizational objectives; inspire, motivate and train team members to follow and achieve organizational security standardsGenerate security reports and key performance indicators for IT administrators and business managers to evaluate the effectiveness of security controlsCreate a synergy with legal and privacy teams according to new laws and regulationsResponsible for attracting and retaining a high performing 24x7 cyber security team in a competitive environmentResponsible for developing a healthy work environment that promotes innovation and leading edge practices that are dynamic and fast pacedDevelop and maintain a 5-year cyber roadmap of initiatives and projects specific to delivery areaProvide coaching, counseling, and mentoring to employees with deep technical expertise that will be required for this roleManage delivery quality by enforcing customer service standardsEnsure adherence to professional and technical standards by reviewing and benchmarking to latest and state-of-the-art practicesResponsible for developing and enhancing processes, priorities and goals for a delivery areaParticipate in Management and Operational Committees according to cadence, as requiredProvide business and technical inputs to Business Governance and Operational Management Committees, as appropriateQualifications Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination Required as of October 31st 20219-12 years of IT technology, cybersecurity, operations, people leadership and strategy experience in a large company Certifications Certification in Information Security (CISSP, ISC, or CISM) practices and policies preferredA relevant University degree/technical certification, and/or relevant experience commensurate to the roleThe ability to keep functioning effectively when under pressure and/or experiencing rapidly changing or uncertain conditions, and to maintain self-control in the face of hostility or provocation.
