This is a Construction Manager position with the largest power distribution company in British Columbia. This is a full time, one year contract located in Fort St John. Given Canada’s the second largest producer of hydroelectricity, this position will allow you diversity and growth in your career within the utility industry.
The primary scope of the Construction Manager position is to lead the construction of large projects and programs with high complexity, support the completion of projects safely, with quality, within budget, and on time. The Construction Manager will also be responsible for ensuring work site safety is prioritized and will need to execute this by performing and giving feedback on Safe Work Observations, will be responsible for developing comprehensive mitigation's plans by identifying, analyzing, and monitoring the risks throughout the completion of the project, as well as being responsible for contributing to stakeholder engagement by leading the public consultation process on construction activities using expert skills in communication, principled negotiation, and persuasive influencing.
The ideal candidate for the Construction Manager must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of construction management experience or equivalent, must hold a class 5 driver’s license, must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, must have good working knowledge of project management, excellent working knowledge of safety standards and regulations such as Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Standards and WorkSafe Regulations, and must be fluent in English both written and verbally.
