Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Vice-President of Corporate Finance, the Controller is accountable for the general accounting, accounts payable and payroll operations of the company, production of periodic financial reports and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Manage a team of 10 accounting staff (general accounting, accounts payable and payroll personnel).
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department to achieve the department's goals and objectives.
- Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff.
- Issue timely and accurate monthly financial statements.
- Manage the annual budget process.
- Variance analysis and ad hoc management reporting.
- Assess current accounting operations, offer recommendations for improvement and implement new processes.
- Other related tasks
- Gérer une équipe de 10 membres du personnel comptable (comptabilité générale, comptes payables et payroll).
- Superviser les opérations du service de la comptabilité afin d’atteindre les buts et objectifs du département.
- L'embauche, la formation et la rétention de personnel comptable qualifié.
- Publier en temps utile des états financiers mensuels exacts.
- Gérer le processus budgétaire annuel.
- Analyse des écarts et rapports de gestion ad hoc.
- Évaluer les opérations comptables actuelles, formuler des recommandations d’amélioration et mettre en œuvre de nouveaux processus.
- Toutes autres tâches connexes
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
- CPA, a must
- Bilingual environment
- Excellent knowledge of Excel
- Ability to manage time well, through tight deadlines and to work on multiple projects simultaneously
