Our client, a leader in the Insurance Industry is hiring a Corporate Responsibility Consultant for a one year contract with long term potential.

Implement Corporate Responsibility (CR) strategies, policies and programs aligned with our business objectives and priorities. Work closely with local and global CR stakeholders to manage, grow and elevate our commitment to CR. Work with Communications team to advance our employee engagement and external reputation with respect to CR.

• Corporate Responsibility covers such areas as:
• Outstanding corporate citizenship in the community
• A top-notch workplace and engaged workforce
• Ethical professional and legal standards of business conduct
• Act as the primary point-of-contact for our road safety charity and non-profit partners, including Parachute Canada and 8 80 Cities, which involves overseeing regional/national activations and day-to-day partnership management.
• Additional work will focus on leading internal skills-based volunteering exercises to aide delivery of CR strategy objectives, as well as measuring and reporting upon CR performance.

• Support implementation of Corporate Responsibility strategy focused on road safety, including telling a cohesive and compelling story both internally and externally on owned channels
• Ensure mutually effective and productive relationships with our national road safety partners to deliver community impact and improve customer, broker and employee consideration.
• Regularly research and stay abreast of latest news/developments and innovations in the road safety space, both locally and on a global level.
• Oversee the delivery of multi-year partnership agreements, including project objectives and deliverables, impact measurement plans, reporting schedules and bi-annual review meetings.
• Measure, analyze and report up partner-related CR KPIs and performance on a mid-year and year-end basis; contribute to global CR report and annual Public Accountability Statement.
• Support development and delivery of road-safety related employee engagement opportunities to boost volunteering and create greater awareness of strategy, including leading delivery of skill-based volunteering initiatives.
• Deepen the understanding of the expectations of customers, employees, brokers and broader society concerning responsible corporate citizenship.
• Administer corporate payments to partner charities/organizations.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to communicate our CR activities to the local market, global group and external audiences while supporting our brand.
• Assess, prioritize, monitor and report on potential challenges, risks and opportunities with respect to CR regularly.
• Monitor and analyze the CR strategies policies and programs of other financial services companies; research, share and work with internal stakeholders to implement best practices.
• Represents the Company in relevant outside events and venues.

Located in Markham
up to $45.50/hr

• Bachelor’s Degree in business administration/management, communications, marketing or related field
• Specialized education in CR preferred
• Min. 5-7 years corporate responsibility experience, with prior experience in devising or implementing a CR program
• Min. 5 years experience as a communications practitioner
• Min. 3 years experience in project management
• Financial services experience an asset
• Commitment to and passion for CR with a solid understanding of today’s key global CR issues and landscape, and the roles of the financial sector both in Canada and abroad.
• Proficiency in managing corporate community investment programs including corporate foundations, charity partnerships, employee engagement programs
• Strong project management capabilities with the proven ability to establish and meet deadlines; ability to prioritize, lead initiatives and project teams
• Knowledge of business principles from multiple disciplines and the ability to drive change/outcomes in cross-functional teams, projects and activities
• Proven ability to analyze and interpret data; innovative thinker who can constructively challenge conventional ways of thinking and introduce new ideas
• Strong decision making skills; ability to understand challenges and underlying concerns, develop effective responses or know when to escalate to senior management
• Excellent written communication skills; especially strong report writing/editorial skills; strong oral communication skills; corporate communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills, experience communicating at a variety of levels.Strong customer service commitment to internal and external stakeholders
