The Cost/Budget Controller is responsible for monitoring, analyzing and managing the financial aspects of the company's operations, projects and activities. Working closely with operational teams, finance and management, the Cost & Budget Controller plays a crucial role in making informed decisions regarding the management of financial resources.
Main responsibilities :
Financial Monitoring and Analysis:
Collect, compile and analyze relevant financial data to assess performance and operational efficiency.
Prepare periodic reports on budget variances and financial performance, identifying trends, anomalies and opportunities for improvement.
Budget Management:
Collaborate with operational managers to develop annual budgets, taking into account strategic objectives and growth projections.
Monitor and control budget execution, proposing adjustments where necessary to ensure financial targets are met.
Forecasting and Planning:
Participate in the development of short- and long-term financial forecasts, taking into account economic factors, industry trends and potential challenges.
Provide recommendations to optimize resource allocation and minimize financial risks
Cost optimization:
Identify areas where savings can be made, and propose measures to reduce costs while maintaining quality and efficiency.
Evaluate the cost advantages and disadvantages of different sourcing and production options.
Cross-functional collaboration:
Work closely with operational teams, finance, purchasing and other departments to share relevant financial information and ensure coordinated decision-making.
Compliance and Regulation:
Ensure that all financial and budgetary activities comply with current regulations and accounting standards
Qualifications
3-5 years' experience in an FP&A position focused on cost and budgeting
CPA or CPA in progress (with experience)
English-speaking environment, French more than functional. required
Strong Excel skills, Power BI experience an asset
ERP experience (Tier 2 type)
