Design Review Technologist will require the following qualifications and experience:
Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (e.g. Architectural or Engineering Technology), along with related, progressive experience, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
Extensive experience with architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical design disciplines and their interrelationships, especially as related to a transit environment.
Working knowledge of construction practices including applicable codes, standards and regulations.
Working knowledge in the area of technical specification writing, tendering process, and construction contract documents.
Comprehensive knowledge of engineering design office practices and technical records management principles and practices.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), as well as knowledge of Bentley Microstation CADD software which would normally be obtained through drafting experience.
Familiarity with a project management environment.
Strong service orientation; sound judgement; excellent problem solving skills combined with a good knowledge of research methods and techniques.
Previous transit project experience will be an asset.
Participation in project meetings to support project manager to resolve issues.

Summary
Analyzing design documents for completeness; adherence to TTC design standards, pre-established project scope, safety, maintainability, operability and constructability requirements; as well as for conformance with Group procedures and the requirement for Design Standard Variances.
Coordinating a company wide review of the design documents by determining companies stakeholders of the project and expediting / issuing review comments according to deadlines.
Compiling and analyzing review comments for inconsistencies, conflicts,
consequential impacts among design disciplines, and against past design review comment databases for similar issues.
