As the digital Vendor Co Op Specialist within our client's Retail division, you’ll help retailers create large scale shopper marketing programs, helping them move themselves (and their suppliers) to better leverage co op funds to drive sales from site to store. With a focus on building new relationships with merchants and marketers, you’ll leverage our client's world class incredible advertising and measurement products to help illustrate how meaningful connections can be made between shoppers and the retailers/brands they’ll soon enjoy.

Engage frequently with buyers (and their marketing-colleagues) to understand objectives and offer recommendations.

Provide shopper marketing implementation, reporting and analytics across search, video and display campaigns.

Educate retailers (and some of their largest vendors) on how digital is driving acquisition and retention with Canadian consumers and help inspire them to switch more of their traditional co-op and trade marketing efforts toward digital-first thinking.

Partner with the Retailer’s account team to build and own an activation plan.

Partner with cross-functional teammates to adapt advertising products to fit the expectations and scale demanded by digital vendor co-op.

Each year, $6.3B is spent in Canada on Co Op marketing, funded by vendors and spent by retailers, with the intent of driving sales for that vendor’s products/brands at that retailer. Unfortunately, the vast majority of that is spent on older forms of Co Op (flyer, in-store signage or discounting) which aren’t connecting with shoppers as well as they used to. Our client is working with retailers and vendors to help them bring their Co Op efforts to digital channels - the media that Canadians are most likely to use to inform their path to purchase.

Steps from Union

BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience in either advertising sales, marketing, consulting or media or retail trade/vendor marketing within a retailer/brand.

5+ years of experience as a merchant (buyer) or category marketing manager, who has held relationships with vendors (manufacturers) in the past. Experience with partnership management and closing complicated deals. Familiarity with Google’s portfolio of products, including Search, YouTube, display advertising or online-to-offline attribution
