Responsibilities
- Communicate with drivers to inform them of their next pick-up and delivery.
- Act as dispatcher support
- Work closely with drivers on any problems they may encounter
- Update shipment status in the shipping system
- Determine best routes and order of pick-ups and deliveries
- Work closely with other dispatchers to coordinate daily activities
- Inform customer service representatives of any problems so that they can communicate directly with customers
- Check status of orders and customs documents for drivers
- Maintain customer relations
- Find alternative carriers for freight (carrier relations) when in-house drivers are not available
Qualifications
- French and English are mandatory
- Knowledge of TMW, BorderConnect and Excel
- Good computer/technology skills
- Team player and able to work well with others
- Good communicator
- Good attitude and willingness to learn and grow with the company
- Ability to answer calls 1 weekend out of 2 (evenings)
- Logical, bright and resourceful
