Our client in the Burlington area has partnered with Randstad Engineering in their search for a Drafting Manager to join their team!

As a Drafting Manager, you would be accountable for management of the drafting department and the development / execution of practices, processes, standards and procedures for structural computer aided drafting design (CADD) projects.

Specific responsibilities would include:
• Establish and maintain the engineering drafting service strategy and associated standards, processes and procedures.
• Accountable for timely delivery and accuracy of finished design drawings
• Work directly with the Drafting Team, Project Managers, and Engineers to ensure project requirements are met.
• Provide supervision, mentorship, training and coaching to a department of approximately 10-15 Drafters.
• Perform design and drafting duties.
• Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement of drafting processes through the use of technology, process refinements, and utilization of information.


As a qualified candidate, you meet the following requirements:
• PEng designation
• Post-secondary education within civil, architectural or related discipline
• 5+ years of management experience, with proven leadership skills
• Previous experience working within the construction industry, specifically with concrete and reinforced steel.
• Previous experience implementing continuous improvement strategies.
• Able to conceptualize, develop and execute visions and plans.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – written and verbal.
