Our client is a North American manufacturer and single source supplier of automation solutions, located in Barrie, Ontario. They produce state of the art robotic ‘turn-key’ production ready equipment for manufacturing industries, such as: Automotive, Plastics, Consumer Goods, Pharmaceutical / Medical, Cosmetics, and more.
They are looking for a skilled Electrical Controls Programmers to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis, that has extensive knowledge and practical experience with:
1) PLC Programming & Troubleshooting
2) Fanuc and ABB robots
3) Worked on building assembly lines
Advantages

Responsibilities
• Report to the Electrical/Controls Manager.
• Provide regular project progress updates to the Electrical/Controls Manager.
• Support electrical design as required.
• Assist the electrical department in the assembly and development of the equipment.
• Update electrical drawings using AutoCAD as required.
• All aspects of machine programming. i.e. PLC (Omron, Allen-Bradley), HMI, robot (Fanuc, ABB), servo, VFD, etc.
• Technical support and service to our customers.
• Prepare the controls related documentation to be included in the machine manual which will be presented to the customer.
• Provide on-site start up assistance as well as customer training upon delivery of the equipment.
• Complete all company provided training as required.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Work safely in compliance with accepted safe work practices & legislated health and safety standards.
• Work with minimal supervision and positively interact with customers and colleagues
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Electro Mechanical Engineering / Robotics / Computer Technology / Process Control
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of practical experience.
• High degree of programming aptitude.
• Able to read drawings/blueprints and assemble from information provided.
• Be a “team player” and “team leader”.
• Take initiative and share ways to improve processes.
• Must be able/willing to work overtime and weekends as business needs require.
• International travel required (approximately 10% to 25% to US & Mexico).
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
