SUMMARY OF YOUR ROLE AS AN ELECTRO-TECHNICIAN:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Electro-technician performs repairs as well as preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment to ensure proper operation and avoid unplanned downtime.

Responsibilities
The Electro-technicians is responsible for:
- Provide production support on normal shift and on call as needed;
- Perform repairs, maintenance, calibration and installation of control, instrumentation and fire protection instruments in an efficient manner, in compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code and in a timely manner, in order to minimize production downtime;
- Participate in all stages of projects that involve electrical projects;
- Process work requests received through the Intéral work order management system;
- Perform purchase requisitions and management of electrical parts;
- Carry out the constant updating of documentation;
- Supervise the work of external contractors associated with the department (when required);
- Prepare and plan with his superior, the planned shutdowns of equipment;
- Prepare and plan scheduled equipment shutdowns with his/her supervisor; Perform any other related duties that may fall under this job.

Qualifications
SQF/HACCP Requirements:
- Ensure that the actions of this position support the manufacturing of products with the quality and food safety criteria defined by the company;
- Ensures compliance with SQF food safety code requirements and reports any food safety issues to authorized personnel.
Education-Skills and experience required:
- Industrial Electronics Technician (DEC) with his or her C.E. Electrical Certificate ;
- Experience in the food industry, in processes and production lines;
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar position;
- Familiar with the use of computers and has a very good knowledge of PLC software;
- Good knowledge of variable speed drives (VFD);
- Knowledge of WHMIS and ability to work with chemicals;
- Knowledge of machine safety standards (an asset);
- Works in a team when needed to find solutions to electrical and instrumentation problems;
- Analytical, adaptable and flexible;
- Ability to work in a team (team player);
- Ability to work in a team environment (team player); Ability to be well organized and have a well-structured work method;
- Ability to determine the degree of importance of priorities;
- Minutia, Entregent, Assiduity, Sense of initiative, Communicator;
- A developed sense of autonomy, ability to manage his own time;
- Enjoy challenges, attention to detail and able to work under pressure;
- Bilingual (French/English) strongly desired, fluency in English required.
