We are seeking an experienced Engineer to fulfill a leadership role with a small but well established industrial manufacturing client of ours in the Vancouver area.


Reporting the Engineering and Operations Manager the Engineering Manager will ensure product integrity, product quality, cost effectiveness and consistency in manufacturing to meet customer specifications. Providing manufacturing engineering services to operations team including Bill of Material, jig and fixture design, capital expense, and plant layout.

Responsibilities:

-Design, develop and test new product specifications, including custom designs
-Prototype designs for first production, remedy issues for full production
-Diagnosis and analysis of product failures
-Manage engineering documentation, drawings and BOM
-Manage product integrity to meet performance specifications
-Review existing products – identify low volume product design for efficiencies and cost savings.
-Evaluate product costs for both performance and manufacturing. Recommend changes in production methods and materials.
-Project control coordination of work phases, tracking costs and implementing changes as needed.
-Performing mechanical design work utilizing 2D and 3D CAD systems.
-Oversight of the Design Change Order process and procedures
-Create and sign off ISO control documents for Engineering
-Provide manufacturing/industrial services to operations team
-Supervise the design of control panels to customer specification


Qualifications:

-Skilled working in highly complex situations that require demanding problem-solving abilities
-Scientific and analytical problem solving to resolve product design failures
-Business management, including budgets and ISO
-Skilled in hand tools and machinery use and CAD (Solidworks, CREO or other)
-Understanding of electronic control panels
-Skilled in Microsoft Office and JDE


-Graduate Mechanical Engineer – with additional course work in machinery building technology, physics, Controls, hydraulics and chemistry
-Professional Engineer Designation
-10 years of experience in a manufacturing organization
-5 Years Leadership and supervisory responsibilities managing a technical team
