Responsibilities
-Develop and manage engineering teams and monitor and ensure compliance methods.
-Determine and exemplify engineering best practices.
-Lead project teams to produce standardized and custom equipment.
-Plans projects by studying customer requirements, market demand, and competitors’ products; identifying and analyzing trends in technology; conferring and collaborating with other members of management.
-Determines feasibility of project by identifying and forecasting costs and requirements.
-Completes projects by directing and approving design and modification activities.
-Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional activities.
-Completes engineering projects by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on results.
-Achieves financial objectives by preparing the engineering budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
-Complies with Federal, State, and Local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
-Maintains engineering operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing project, operational, and personal policies and procedures.
-Maintains engineering database by developing information requirements; designing and information system.
-Design electrical systems, products and/or components.
-Ensures projects meet electrical and construction safety regulations
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s Degree in engineering is required. Professional engineer preferred.
-5 years management experience is preferred.
-Excellent understanding and hands-on knowledge of both mechanical and electrical engineering.
-Extensive experience with R&D engineering.
-Outstanding teamworking and people skills.
-Must be proficient with the following software: Microsoft Office Suite, AutoDesk Inventor Suite, AutoDesk Vault
-Must work well under deadlines and have excellent problem-solving skills.
