Do you wear your heart on your sleeve? Do you care about your clients and feel you have a moral obligation to follow through with their deepest requests when managing their estate? Are you an experienced legal assistant with experience in Wills and Estates? Perhaps you are an estates administrator at an investment company or bank? Do you have at least 2 years of experience administering/coordination estates, drafting wills, or assisting in the execution of wills? We are currently searching for an Estates Administrator for one of our clients in the Non-Profit sector. Ideally slated to begin on January 6th, 2020, this role will be a 3 to 6-month contract, with long term potential to go permanent. what you will do

• follow up with trustees, executors, lawyers, and banks
• establish a good work flow for collection/releases for donations through estates process
• assist with communication within the team (answering questions, managing follow up, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders)
• manage communication with legacy donors
• open/file legal documents relating to bequests
• assist with communication with the office of the public trustee
• prepare legal releases
• administer cash deposits, receipt management, and reconciliations
• administer life insurance policies, charitable trusts,
• close files as needed

who you are

• 2-5 years of experience in wills and estates administration
• law clerk. legal assistant, or paralegal diploma a strong asset
• strong MS Office skills
• excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• strong attention to detail
• experience working in/with the office of the Public Trustee a strong asset
• professional demeanor
• ability to exercise discretion a must
• experience working in a law firm in wills and estates would put you at the front of the pack
