job description

We are seeking an experienced Estimator for a client of ours in the industrial refrigeration and HVAC industry.


Responsibilities:

-Meet with customers to understand their needs
-Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
-Perform risk and contract management responsibilities as required
-Work with suppliers to foster relationships and negotiate pricing
-Assist customers in finding innovative ways to solve problems that result in improvements or savings in their facilities
-Conceptualize and design of refrigeration system and work with engineers as required
-Actively search for new and innovative technologies/solutions to keep our client and its customers competitive
-Put together accurate proposals while working alongside sub trades and other departments
-Put together project plans, communication plans and facilitate project hand off meetings for all relevant project stakeholders once a project has been awarded
-Work with project managers to answer questions they may have as the project progresses
-Communicate with supply chain, sales, marketing, engineering, sub-trades and finance
-Participate in and reinforce company procedures and safety policies


Qualifications:

-Refrigeration red seal or refrigeration engineering degree
-10+ year of experience or 10+ years of related refrigeration experience or education will be considered
-Experience with Ammonia systems
-Experience in installing and designing refrigeration systems
-Experience with refrigeration assemblies and drawings
-Previous estimating experience
-Must be self-driven and ambitious
-Ability to put together accurate proposals under pressure and within customers deadlines
-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
-Ability to encourage team, hold team members accountable and be accountable
-Strong verbal and written English communication skills with a very positive attitude
