Field Quality Inspector

Understand and interpret ASME and AWS codes, specifications, and customer requirements.

Verify correct filler wire for materials and weld processes being used.

Assist with scheduling NDE and PWHT as necessary.

Develop and maintain accurate reports of quality control inspections.

Test and qualify welders in accordance with a company welder testing procedures.

Verify welding personnel are working within their range of qualifications.

Responsibilities

Assist with scheduling the authorized inspector (AI) for required inspections and complete sign-off of weld travelers.

Participate in the Jobsite Safety Observations (JSO's) process and define corrective measures for problem areas

Comply with all Safety & Health requirements and monitors construction activities to ensure adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of verifiable inspection experience as an AWS CWI/SCWI.

Previous experience with performing QC inspections tasks within a formal quality program on a range of projects to include HRSG Erection Projects, Refinery-Oil & Gas projects, boiler and pressure vessel repair/alteration projects, structural steel erection.

Must have previous experience with welder testing and qualification using ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1., and API 1104.

Current AWS CWI certification required

Computer Skills:*

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong background in Microsoft Office products and Bluebeam.
