Under the supervision of the Area Service Manager, the incumbent is responsible for machine startup, repair service, and/or provides other technical assistance at the customer’s facility to ensure customer satisfaction. The incumbent is required to follow the guidelines set forth in the Field Service Engineer Guidelines

Responsibilities
75 % of Time Core Functions/Duties
Adheres to daily schedule provided by Area Service Manager to visit and service customers’ machinery.
• Troubleshoots electrical, hydraulic and mechanical problems leaving the customer with the assurance that the problem has been or will be resolved.
• For new injection molding machines: starts up, provides molding assistance, and gives hands on operator and maintenance training.
• Responsible for timely and accurate field service report specific to all services on site, problems incurred, safety violations noted, hours and expenses.
• Responsible for all the proper use and care of all company-issued tooling, property, and proprietary information.
25% % of Time Core Functions/Duties
Responsible for projecting a positive image to the customer by having a positive attitude, personal appearance, and the highest level of professionalism that must be consistent with company guidelines.
• Generates clear, concise, accurate and complete field service reports, expense reports, and timely return of those reports to the home office.
• Schedules time and makes travel arrangements consistent with the department’s objectives of controlling costs, and travel and living expenses.
• Provides temporary phone coverage for technical support and/or manager while there is a vacancy due to vacation and/or illness.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Performance will be measured based on the position accountabilities.
• Provides onsite machine support via part replacement, troubleshooting, or maintenance of all brands
• Accurate service reporting and documentation of all relevant service items per job, customer, machine.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
• Two-year technical degree in the field of electronics, or equivalent experience in the plastics industry.
• 5 years of Demonstrated field service experience or equivalent experience in the area of troubleshooting and repair of injection molding machines.
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Must be able to assemble or disassemble mechanical components of the injection molding machine.
• Must be able to analyze problems on running or downed machines, sometimes in a hot, dusty or noisy environment.
• May be exposed to fumes from plastics or other various chemicals.
TRAVEL:
• Must travel extensively to customer locations. This may require overnight stays for extended periods of time.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must not have travel restrictions.
• Up to 90% travel required
• Need to have an own vehicle to visit client sites. (Cost will be reimbursed)
