Senior Field Service Technician

We’re looking for an experienced Field Service Technician with a background in having experience within the power industry.

What you will be doing in there-
•Work in close collaboration and cooperation with the businesses at different locations
•Job responsibilities will involve hands-on in the field of service work at customer sites.  Candidate must be experienced and proficient in leading the successful execution of power systems field service work and related duties
•Effectively manage and deliver projects of varying scope in field commissioning, start-up, testing, and Aftermarket solutions.  Ensure service and support activities are successfully completed on time and exceed customers expectations and technical requirements
•Develop and maintain a reputation of exceptional service with key accounts, and business partners.  Responsible for the growth of the Mississauga service business through the delivery of quality products and best in class services
•Promote and develop new service business opportunities with existing and new customers.  Services to include but not limited to; support calls, contracts, retrofits, upgrades, spare parts, and aftermarket solutions. Work towards establishing trusted advisor status on customers installed power assets, with focus on; maintenance, repair, and life extension of TPS delivered products and assemblies
•Provide Technical Training programs for customers, partners, and employees on new and existing products
•Ensure all corporate policy, and values are foundational in the culture of the Las Vegas office.  Including health and safety, integrity, responsibility, diversity & inclusion, customer success, innovation with purpose, continuous improvement, performance, and passion to win  

What you bring in there -
•The successful candidate will possess the following:
•University Degree or Technical Diploma
•10+ Years Progressive Technical Experience in Power Generation Equipment & Applications
•Knowledge of applicable health, safety, and electrical (CSA/NFPA/UL) regulatory codes and standards
•Experienced and proficient in starting up and commissioning LV and MV generator paralleling switchgear
•Able to read, understand and interpret electrical Single Line Diagrams
•Advanced understanding of industrial electrical equipment (switchgear, transfer switches, circuit breakers, generators)
•Advanced understanding of industrial control equipment (metering, protective relaying, relay ladder logic, Programmable Logic Controllers - PLCs and HMI’s)
•5+ years of experience programming control and automation equipment as typically used in power generation systems or similar industries considered an asset (e.g. PLC’s, HMI Displays, engine controllers, protective relays, load sharing/synchronizing controllers)
•Familiar with industrial communication systems (RS232, 485, USB, Ethernet, CAN) and associated protocols (Modbus, TCPIP etc.)
•Demonstrated Project Management Skills
•Superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, ability to negotiate and present ideas effectively
•High level of attention to detail with a strong ability to implement
•Excellent customer service skills
•Ability to lead independently and as part of a team
•Computer Competency (AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Products Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
•ISO 9001 Knowledge/Experience
•ERP System Knowledge/Experience
•NETA Electrical Testing Standards Knowledge/Experience
