Are you an accounting profession with previous experience handling the period-end close process within a large organization? Do you have strong technical skills, specifically in MS Excel and Oracle? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you!

We are currently looking for a Financial Analyst - Gross Profit to support our client, a leading Canadian retail store, in their North York office. In this role you will work full time hours on a 3 month assignment (with potential for extension), and earn a rate competitive within the industry. As an Financial Analyst - Gross Profit your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Prepare reconciliation for GL accounts and supporting schedules
• Participate in period closing processes, including processing month end journal entries
• Process/upload month end gross profit direct entries.
• Provide assistance and backup to other associates as required
• Support special projects as assigned
• Support the month end close process to ensure accurate financial statements
• Act as backup for the Manager
• Look for ways to improve efficiencies
• Perform problem investigation and resolution
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
• Professional accounting designation or working towards
• 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience as a Financial or Senior Financial Analyst with a large company with a strong work ethic (retail industry experience beneficial)
• Highly proficient computer skills with various applications with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines
• Experience with Oracle an asset
• Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy, and sound reconciliation skills
• Collaborative team player with effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and work beyond normally scheduled hours at month end as required
