Are you a designated accountant with experience working in a large corporate environment? Have you been responsible for handling Financial Planning and Analysis activities? Do you have strong technical skills, including experience with Advanced MS Excel, Hyperion, QlikView, and other analysis and visualization tools? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you!

We are currently looking for a Financial Analysis to support our client, a leading multinational manufacturing and engineering firm, in their Oakville office. In this role you will work full time hours on a 12 month assignment, and earn a rate competitive within the industry. As a Financial Analyst your main responsibilities will be to proactively support the forecasting and planning processes through cross functional collaboration and analysis. On a daily basis you will be responsible to:

• Support Digital Industry FA & MC Budgeting and Forecasting Processes, including providing guidance & support to business community, roll up & analysis of Progress Plan and achievement for assigned regions
• Drive financial planning including budget and cost controls
• Conduct financial analysis accounting practices and reports including monthly monitoring and analysis of monthly operating result against budget and/or forecast
• Manage, coordinate, compile, and prepare periodic financial outlooks and financial forecasts
• Ensure compliance with company processes and procedures
• Review and post all assigned business unit/department related invoices from EZ-Suite Affiliate and 3rd Party vendors
• Prepare any required Journal Entries needed to re-class costs into or out of your assigned business unit/departments cost centers as required
• Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff
• Work on special projects as needed including SOA testing transfer pricing studies product business
• Work with Business Unit Controller to address any financial issues or concerns within your assigned business unit/departments
• Perform ad hoc requests various projects or miscellaneous assignments as assigned by the Controller
• Complete monthly quarterly reconciliations on selected corporate balance sheet accounts
• Ad-hoc commercial analysis and reporting as required
• Involvement in in commercial/contract activities, order management, pricing, margin calculations, etc.
• Perform multiple activities at closing to ensure the integrity of the assigned area of responsibility Coordinate activities with Accounting and performance controlling to meet company guidelines and audit requirements
• Seek system and process improvements to continually enhance reporting capabilities for financial, operational and customer needs

Qualifications
• University degree in Business Administration Finance or Accounting, MBA or Master of Finance preferred, but not required
• Holds or currently pursuing a recognized accounting certification e.g. CPACGA or CPACMA
• 5+ years of relevant and progressive experience preferred, including experience in a business partnering role and the ability to work with all levels of staff and executive management
• Must have knowledge of IFRS accrual accounting
• Strong analytical skills and have potential for supervisory skills
• Advanced technical skillset: Excel, PowerPoint, Qlik view, Business Objects, Hyperion, SAP, finance modelling
• Knowledge of finance accounting budgeting and cost control principles
• Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports statements and projections
• Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting rolling budgets and business segment profitability analysis
• Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
• Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
• Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule
• Proven top performer with exceptional work, never missing deadlines, working well within a team AND independently to achieve superior results
• Experience in a large matrix organization
