Fire Protection Designer/Engineer - Fire Protection & Alarm Systems

We’re looking for an experienced Fire Protection Designer/Engineer with an Electro-Mechanical background in having experience designing Fire Protection especially the sprinkler systems. P.Eng is a MUST.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Fire alarm layout design and design review

• Generate and/or modify fire safety plans

• Create drawings suitable for building permit submission

• Address any client or in-house fire code or building code questions

• Apply for building permits as required

• Assist in permit closeouts with AHJ’s

• Liaise with contractors/architects/engineers

• Review and provide PEO stamp on drawings

• Hands-on fire alarm experience an asset


REQUIREMENT- EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering - Fire Protection preferred but other disciplines with relevant experience also considered
• P.Eng. designation or eligibility for registration with the PEO as P.Eng.
• Demonstrated ability to use fire and smoke modelling software
• Ability to grow in technical, communication and business skills
• Knowledge of Canadian Building and Fire Codes and related standards
