Responsibilities
What YOU will be doing as a Welder Fitter in Oakville:
- Read contract drawings to ensure material corresponds in weight and thickness
- Layout, drill, cope, fit and tack weld detailed material as per drawing
- Identify the accuracy of the drawing and notify of any discrepancy
- Fitter to complete all required training for tools and equipment, and tasks required to safely complete job duties.
- Good housekeeping is to be kept in the work area on a daily basis.
- May be required to do welding
Qualifications
What YOU bring to the role of Welder Fitter in Oakville
- Training in overhead crane operation
- Be trained in operation of all equipment-overhead crane, drills, grinders, burningt/heating torches, saws, tack welding machines, etc.)
- Fully conversant with blueprint interpretation
- Knowledge of fabrication codes; particularly W59, and W47.1
