    Our candidate, who is a name brand financial institution, is looking for a Full Stack Engineer.

    The position is located in Downtown Toronto. The position is remote for the moment but will likely convert to a hybrid model during the course of the contract with the candidate coming into the office 1-2 days a week.

    Responsibilities
    Role Purpose / Description
    We are looking for Senior Full Stack Engineer who can design, develop and implement IT solutions to build a strategic IT solution, which aims to provide the following;
    • A modern, easy to use Web UI to the business users.
    • Light-weighted micro services that are replaceable to provide quicker response to the business need
    • Cloud readiness to allow flexible deployment to internal and external cloud environment
    • Elasticity to allow easy scaling up and down environments
    The job holder will perform the following duties:
    • Design, Develop and implement IT strategic solutions with micro-service and Strategic UI to meet business requirements
    • Conduct system tests, user acceptance tests and provide support on system implementation
    • Ensure a high quality standard of deliverables
    • Adopt DevOps culture to provide ongoing improvement on development process
    • Work closely with global team on joint development and maintenance projects

    Qualifications
    Must Have Skills
    - At least 5 years' IT working experience on Front-end (ReactJS) and JAVA (JDK 8 or higher) application development, preferably in an enterprise or a global environment.
    - Knowledge of DevOps tooling such as Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Jira/Confluence, Maven/Gradle.
    - Experience in Scala development would be a big advantage
    - Experience with Nodejs, NPM, Webpack would be an advantage
    - Experience in Agile development process, TDD/BDD knowledge is preferred
    - Strong mindset and follow best practices of unit testing and automated testing
    - Able to work at flexible hour for late evening meeting with colleagues in various regions, front-end and back-end development, deployment & production support.
    - Willing to learn/explore various technologies.
    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skill, good at written and spoken English.
    - Good analytical, design and problem solving skills.

    Desired Skills
    - Knowledge in financial market business domain will be an added advantage
    - Experience in some of below technology will be an advantage: API Gateway, Python, MongoDB.
    - Experience in container technology such as Docker, Kubernetes is an advantage
    - Hands-on experience in design and implementing high available & resilient distributed systems with RESTful API
    - Experience with Spring Boot / Spring Cloud.
