If you would like to be considered for this exciting opportunity, apply now!AdvantagesWhat’s in it for you?• Work with talented co-workers in a diverse role• Highly competitive compensationResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:• Identifying and developing solutions to meet clients’ needs• Develop, install, configure, maintain and upgrade database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, backups, security, etc.• Design database tables and structures, creating views, functions, triggers and stored procedures• Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures and functions• Develop procedures and scripts for moving and reporting data• Analyze existing SQL queries / stored procedures for performance improvements• Manage SQL Server database servers through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to staging to mission critical production systems• Monitor SQL Server Alerts, configuration via monitoring tools such as SentryOne (SQLSentry) & Red Gate SQL Monitor• Manage Index fragmentation, CPU Bottleneck, I/O Bottleneck, DBCC checks• Optimize Query Executions, Data Integrity, Index Tuning, Update Statistics, Error and Event Handling• Configure, implement, and maintain Disaster Recovery solutions using availability groups and replication such as transactional, snapshot & merge replication• Manage SQL Server SSIS, SSRS and SSAS infrastructure• Control User Privileges, Security and Audits as per Enterprise Standards• Prepare and maintain deployment and rollback scripts• Review releases and manage performance of any changes QualificationsSuccessful candidates will have:• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or a related program• 5+ years of related work experience• Excellent understanding of SQL programming and SQL Server• Experience on SQL Server SSIS, SSRS and SSAS, database upgrades• Experience in scheduling Backups and Restore, Log Shipping and Maintenance plans using Native & Third-party tools (LiteSpeed, SQL Sentry etc.)• Experience in configuring Always On with High Availability, Clustering, Contained Databases, Online Index Rebuilds, CDC, TDE• Expertise in Managing Database tasks – Jobs, Alerts, Emails, Notification• Experience in Disaster Recovery plans by configuring Clustering, Log-shipping, Mirroring and Replication (Snapshot and Transactional).• Experience in controlling user privileges, security and audits• Experience in solving Database issues with Index fragmentation, CPU Bottleneck, I/O Bottleneck, DBCC checks, Optimization of Query, Data Integrity, Index Tuning, Update Statistics, Error and Event Handling.• Expertise in Performance tuning, Optimization, Data integrity and Statistics by using SQL Profiler, Perfmon, DB Engine Tuning Advisor as well as 3rd party tools and scripts.• Experience in Powershell• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills• Team player• Great interpersonal and communication skillsDesired Skills:• Service broker knowledge• Cosmos DB experience• Experience in Atlassian tools (Jira Software, Jira Service Desk, Confluence, etc)SummaryIf you are interested in this SQL DBA / Developer remote contract role, apply online or reach out to Nash.Geng@randstad.ca today!Randstad Canada is committed to building a diverse workforce reflective of the diversity of Canada.
