Responsibilities
Assist in the loading and unloading of materials, equipment, and products, ensuring proper handling and storage.
Perform general site clean-up, including sweeping, removing debris, and maintaining an organized workspace.
Operate basic hand tools and equipment, following safety guidelines to complete tasks efficiently.
Support skilled tradespeople with various tasks, such as moving materials or setting up equipment.
Carry out manual labour tasks, such as digging, lifting, and carrying heavy items, as required.
Follow instructions from supervisors to complete assigned tasks accurately and within deadlines.
Assist in setting up and dismantling temporary structures, such as scaffolding or barricades.
Participate in inventory management, including counting and organizing materials and supplies.
Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Report any equipment malfunctions, hazards, or incidents to the supervisor promptly.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a general labour or construction role is an asset, but not required.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving heavy items (up to 50 pounds or more).
Strong work ethic and reliability, with a commitment to punctuality and consistent attendance.
Basic understanding of safety practices and procedures in a labour-intensive environment.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and supervisors.
Basic mechanical aptitude or familiarity with hand tools and equipment is an advantage.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, as required.
Willingness to work in different weather conditions and environments, depending on the job site.
Valid driver's license or reliable transportation may be required for some positions.
