In this role you will have an impact on…

•Ensuring a safe and legal work environment 
•The leadership and direction to the staff on all safety, health and welfare matters to ensure compliance to OSHA regulations and practices   
•Preparing and enforcing policies
•Conduct and coordinate training programs for health and safety matters and accident prevention
•Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
•Participate in HAZOP evaluations of new capital projects, or modification to existing equipment and operations
•Develop a Site Safety Management Plan for two site locations and conduct regular audit for compliance to the plan

You’re an ideal candidate for this role because you bring…

•BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred
•10 years safety experience in heavy industrial or chemical refinery setting• Deep understanding of Ontario OHSA regulations and practices
•Previous multi-site experience is an asset•Proven experience as a change agent
•High level of professionalism with a strategic mindset
•Agile and comfortable adjusting to ever changing priorities
•Ability to see challenge as an opportunity and has a desire to build new processes
•Resourceful and able to think through a problem and knows where to find the answers
•Strong people-skills and a passion to build and maintain strong relationships
•Independent and thoughtful decision maker
