Reporting to the VP of Operations, the HR administration will assist with all HR functions including developing and delivering policies and procedures, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and fostering a positive and engaging culture.
Opportunity: Permanent, full time
Location: Victoria (downtown)
Salary: 65K+, depending on experience
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, M-F, 8:30 AM - 4 PM

Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain personnel records
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding
- Prepare HR documents, like employment contracts and new hire guides & orientations
- Revise company policies
- Identify training and development needs
- Create regular reports and presentations on HR metrics (e.g., turnover rates, payroll analysis)
- Answer employees’ queries about HR-related issues
- Assist payroll department by providing relevant employee information (e.g., leaves of absence, sick days and work schedules)
- Participate in HR projects (e.g., company events, expenses & job fairs)
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years HR experience (retail environment preferred)
- HR Degree
- CPHR or working towards is a big asset
- Strong knowledge of the B.C. Employment Standards Act
- Retail environment and unionized environments are both preferred
- Valid drivers license
- Outstanding communication skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Demonstrated time management and record-keeping skills
