We are seeking an experienced HSE professional for a long term contract opportunity with a well established heavy industry client of ours in the Vancouver area. We are looking for someone with 5 to 10 years of HSE field experience in the industrial construction industry (preferably refining or oil and gas). Candidates should also be well versed with behavioral based safety and Human Performance principles.

Key competencies & responsibilities:

•95% time spent in the field
•Site Knowledge & Broad Trade knowledge
•Focus on Safe execution of the work in the field
•Working knowledge of LPS
•Incident Investigation – resource for contractors.
•CHESM- Perform Work in Progress (WIP) audits
•Work with Contract owner
•Field Audits (E-suite)
•Vacuum truck
•Portable Buildings
•Other HCA Audits (i.e. excavations, crane lifts, fall protection, etc)
•Facilitator for Safety Issues
•Supports risk mitigation plans for maintenance, small projects, and specialty contractors (Understands risks)
•Safety leadership/motivation
•Can provide conduit/communication regarding safety issues between Contractor and Company
•Involved in SLT weekly Trade Safety Meetings.
•Safety Rep must remain in the field, not caught up in too many meetings.
•Bring forward the value-added safety initiative such as LPS, SSE, IIF etc.
•Works with Construction Field Reps and HES group
•Support Field Rep target areas during heavy construction
•Some OT coverage required
•Follow ups on Safety Bulletin process
•Good Communicator
•Positive connections with field workers.
•Good at building relationships.
•Complete Safeguard Verifications for Permit Process
