In support of that mission, our Client is in need of a full time Production Planner to join their team at their Kelowna, BC campus.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Health and Safety (HSE) Manager is responsible for establishing policies that will create and maintain a safe workplace that meets all legal expectations and actively supports occupational health and safety. They will also ensures that everyone in the company complies with all applicable health and safety legislation. The HSE Manager assists with the planning, developing, implementing and administering of health, safety and environment plans, programs and activities.

CORE JOB DUTIES
- Develop, recommend and implement personnel policies and procedures to meet the needs of a growing and diversifying company.
- Develop, administer, and maintain the organization’s safety programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment, while ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation.
- Conduct regular site inspections (safety audits) and make recommendations that eliminate or reduce risks and increase safety.
- Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
- Remain up to date with new legislation and any policy development that affect the industry and workplace.
- Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
- Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.
- Ensure compliance with regulations regarding fire and emergency preparedness plans; maintain and update records, organize and participate in planning, lead response team meetings, schedule fire drills, maintain working relationships with authorities having jurisdiction.
- Coordinate safety related activities for all contractors and employees.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts
- Conduct worker health and safety orientation and workplace specific training and presentations as required.
- Work with supervision to ensure accurate and timely injury and accident investigations and root-cause analysis are completed.
- Manage workers’ compensation claims and return to work/stay at work processes.
- Advise on a range of health and safety areas (e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, safeguarding machinery, MSI prevention, and occupational diseases)
- Facilitate the HSE Committee meetings and programs.

JOB SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- Experience setting up a HSE system as a Prime Contractor is desirable
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Supervisor
- Minimum of First Aid level C considered strong asset
- Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies
- Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
- Excellent organizational and motivational skills
- Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- CSO, NCSO, CRSP considered an asset
- Willingness to learn and assist other departments with various tasks
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and plan work activities with minimal supervision, responds quickly and professionally with clear judgment in stressful situations
- Excellent understanding of occupational health and safety regulations, Codes, Acts and legislation is essential with the ability to analyze and interpret technical documents
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office, with the ability to generate reports, comparative charts, educational posters and a variety of business materials
- Excellent customer service skills with highly developed level of integrity, discretion and ability to maintain strict confidentiality as well as handle sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
