We are currently recruiting for a Human Resource Manager in the Brantford area for a full time, fully in office, permanent position. The Human Resource Manager will be responsible for developing and executing human resource strategies and initiatives that support our manufacturing processes and operations. The ideal candidate will require a strong focus on labour relations, process development, and performance management, partnering with the plant management team to develop and implement HR strategies that support the achievement of business objectives while maintaining positive relationships with the union.

Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic partner to the plant management team, provide advice and guidance on HR issues such as labour relations, performance management, and compliance
- Participate in labour relations, including assisting in negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, resolution of grievances, and any employee relations issues
- Assist in implementing and ongoing support for the performance management program, ensuring that all employees receive fair and constructive feedback, coaching, and development opportunities
- Establish and support the implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs that align with the business strategy and promote a positive culture
- Facilitate problem solving and implement conflict resolution strategies to address workplace issues involving staff and/or management
- Assist with the Early and Safe Return to Work/Disability management programs. Ensuring timelines are met and proper follow up has been maintained
- Assisting with employee complaint and investigation process, advising on conflict management, and assisting supervisors/managers with corrective action preparation
- Participate in various Human Resources initiatives and projects in support of Company goals.
- Develop and implement training initiatives across the company
- Perform all other duties assigned
Qualifications
- Experience with Union and Labour Relations
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Human Resources role, specifically in a unionized manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in labour relations
- Diploma, degree and/or certificate in HR or related field
- Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) / Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation preferred.
- Knowledge of ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA, WSIB Regulations and other related legislation pertaining to workplace Human Resources
- Strong employee relations. Ability to build trust and effective working relationships
- Hands-on, willing attitude, with interpersonal skills to maintain positive employee relations
- Ability to work in a close team environment with overlapping/shared responsibilities and maintain positive working relationships
- A dedicated and energetic individual who takes the initiative to achieve results
- Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with managers, employees, and union representatives
