Responsibilities
General Description:
The Technician will be responsible for the assembly of hydraulic power units, valves, manifolds, testing and service. Must have a strong mechanical aptitude, with an understanding of hydraulics.
Duties will be performed on-site and/or at the customer site.
General Duties:
• Inspect incoming manifold blocks and metal fabrications for compliance with purchase orders.
• Assemble and test hydraulic power units and electrical connections.
• Repair motors, pumps and valves.
• Understands customer technical requirements, diagnoses/troubleshoots technical issues and implements corrective solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of all service, repair, and other work.
• Sets up and test systems and components under the direction of engineering and scientific staff.
• Recommends modifications to circuits and components to improve performance.
• Provides leak-free piping.
• Supervises system installation, flushing and commissioning.
• Can devise the Target Cleanliness Chart to aid diagnostics.
Qualifications
Work Experience Requirements:
• Understands basic electrical controls and their application.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret hydraulic schematic drawings.
• Ability to apply pipe fitting best practices.
• Experienced in spot welding techniques.
• Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Ability to build positive and productive relationships with the team and other departments.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks.
• Valid G driver’s license, with a good driving record.
• Valid passport and the ability to travel within Canada and the USA.
Education Requirements:
• Fluid Power technologist / IFPS Certification/Hydraulics engineering or a minimum of 5 years of related hydraulic and electrical systems experience.
