Our client, the global leader in the credit card industry, is hiring an Implementation Analyst, for their downtown Toronto location.

The Implementation Analyst – Implementation Services, Canada – serves as an Implementation Manager for implementation services provided to Clients. The Implementation Analyst manages the efforts of technical and business resources required to implement new and add on products and services. Responsible for gathering and documenting project requirements while providing client consultative guidance on regulations, features and functionality. The individual will be involved in managing efforts by client and third-party software providers involved in projects. Required to be knowledgeable of client as well as project management processes and practices and consistently follow them. The Implementation Manager is responsible for delivering projects according to agreed to practices, on-time and on-budget. Tracks and manages all internal and external issues to resolution. Provides reporting to line management on status of key client projects. Responsible for recommending opportunities for continuous process improvement for implementation of Visa products/services, resulting in shorter cycle times, improved efficiency, reduced costs and increased customer satisfaction. Is able to complete projects with increasing scope and complexity with little involvement from department management.

Principle Responsibilities
• Manage multiple and concurrent Implementation Services projects in Canada to assure that all Product and Sales goals are supported in a cost effective, timely manner, with a resulting high level of client satisfaction.
• Define scope, develop project plans and identify project team resource requirements. Establish project milestones, dates, deliverables and contingencies.
• Recognize unique client requirements or special project considerations and work with project resources to resolve issues and mitigate risk. This is essential in meeting the client’s expectations without over committing Visa’s resources
• Analysis of Client portfolios, operational infrastructures and processes in conjunction with implementation projects
• Ensures completion of network paperwork, and submits client configuration requirements to appropriate resources
• Manage efforts by technical and business resources as well as client and third party resources and other project managers involved in projects. Act as an escalation point for client resources and executives.
• Produce regular reporting to clients, project resources and line management on status of key client projects.
• Coordinate efforts of other technical resources, ensure required project documentation is completed and maintain for historical records and auditing purposes.
• With the assistance of line management, negotiate with line management, department and division heads to secure resources required to complete projects.
• Track and manage all internal and external issues to resolution
• Escalate projects that are in jeopardy and work with executive management
• Accountable for ensuring that projects are delivered according to agreed upon practices, on-time and on-budget.
• Assists in rollout of new or enhanced product offerings to the Canadian clients
• Develops relationships with, leverages and effectively manages the project resources within each Client Support Services functional group
• Accountability for client satisfaction with assigned projects, services and relationships.
• Contributes to the timely and seamless transition of implemented products/services to BAU support.
• Internal and external training targets met.
• Adoption of best practices in project management processes and procedures
• Error free implementation of client change requests, systems & projects.
• Support on operational calls for problem resolution and/or new business
• On a personal level, learn and apply new product knowledge, industry trends and direction as required to grow professionally and support Visa objectives and/or client projects.
• Recommend solutions, including system changes, to help clients achieve their business objectives
• Makes and influences Management decisions in a participative environment
• Primary responsibility for project success, must direct the contribution of individual contributor resources in a matrix environment to complete tasks and achieve objectives.
• Must be able to influence client decisions through a combination of negotiation and consultative input
• Responsible for recommending opportunities for continuous process improvement for implementation of Visa products/services, resulting in shorter cycle times, improved efficiency, reduced costs and increased customer satisfaction.
• Maintain current and comprehensive knowledge of technologies, products, services, methods and applications and implement new approaches and practices as required.
• Continues to expand knowledge by taking on new types of projects to develop additional skills and increase flexibility in management of a variety of project types and complexities.
• Manage stakeholder expectations
• Assist other Implementation Managers by sharing knowledge, providing peer reviews and backing others up when they are out on PTO, training or otherwise unavailable.

Qualifications
5+ years project management in payment experience, banking experience / Communication, organizational skills / Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook

• Functional experience in bankcard operations, preferably Visa, supporting complex clients and/or services
• Brings an in depth knowledge of best practice project management methods and tools (PMI certification a definite plus), and demonstrable success in applying same to the successful completion of complex implementation projects spanning multiple internal departments and external organizations, and 3 to 6 months in duration.
• Understands telecommunications transport and network engineering concepts well enough to explain options to clients, gather their connectivity requirements, and provide first level troubleshooting of connectivity issues.

• Working knowledge of Visa systems including Base I, Base II, SMS and VSS, including file and message formats.
• Detailed knowledge of V.I.P. services –routing, STIP, clearing and settlement.
• Transaction processing
• Excellent knowledge of Visa products and services in the Card industry (Card Technology, Chip Cards, ATM Services, Merchant Services, Cash Products, etc.) detailed enough to provide consultative support to clients on their options and outcomes.
• Excellent knowledge of Operating Regulations
• Detailed knowledge of Visa process and procedures (departmental and support groups), and demonstrated ability to follow those processes and procedures with little guidance to complete work on time and with quality.
• Good working knowledge of the banking Industry; including client back office processes and procedures.
• Keeps current with company, competitor and industry best practices.
