The successful candidate will join a warm, collaborative, welcoming team that feels like a family!Location: EtobicokeHours of Work: M-F 4pm-1am, 5pm-2am (Evening Shift)Pay: $50KAdvantagesWhat are the advantages as an Transportation Coordinator…- PERMANENT opportunity- Annual Pay of $50k- Benefits Package (After 3 month probation period)- Vacation: 2 weeks vacation after 1 year- Opportunities for future growth within the organization- Fast paced, dynamic position- Great company culture- Easily accessible location in EtobicokeResponsibilities- Planning, optimizing, scheduling and routing unionized drivers for pick-ups and deliveries to customers and vendors- Respond to customer inquiries and/or concerns and liaise with both internal and external clients/vendors to ensure that all assigned work activity is carried out in an efficient and procedural compliant manner- Monitor drivers’ hours of service, availability of equipment as well as fleet movement and operations- Respond knowledgeably, courteously, and promptly to incoming calls/ inquiries- Support organization’s strategy for continuous improvement by providing data and recommendations on operational alternatives and creating efficiencies- Drive cost savings through optimal freight management- Update and manage various reports used by management- Ensure that all assigned work activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner- Monitor service levels to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded- Effectively plan and prioritize all loads making best use of equipment and drivers whilemeeting service requirements- Communicate between shifts, hand off where you left off- Assigned trucks and loads, problem solving, handle any delivery issuesQualifications- Post-secondary Diploma in Supply Chain, Business Administration or equivalent is an Asset- 1 to 3 years experience in similar position- Ability to read and interpret business documents- Ability to respond to inquiries from customers, and drivers- Ability to read, analyse and interpret reports and able to write routine reports andcorrespondence- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills- Strong ability to prioritize- Ability to work independently and objectively- Strong attention to detail- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously- Works well with others and have positive attitude- Previous experience in a dispatch role is an asset- Experience in transportation and logistics an asset- Proficient in Excel and MS-Office applications- Occasional lifting up to 50lbsSummaryHow to Apply?1.
