Responsibilities
Reporting to the Building and Energy Supervisor of the Laval plant, the Mechanic performs the maintenance
preventive and corrective maintenance of building-related equipment and services to ensure proper
operation and avoid unplanned shutdowns.
- Carry out the work required by the preventive and corrective maintenance orders on the building and
equipment;
- Follow and respect the preventive maintenance schedule related to the building;
Complete the required forms and documents associated with the work performed;
- Manage the inventory and keep it up to date for the equipment under his responsibility;
- Ensure that any problem is detected in order to ensure the safety, health and comfort of the premises
and notify those in charge, if applicable;
- Perform disassembly, installation and adjustment operations;
- Perform lighting work (change of ballast, neon, work at height);
- Perform plaster, mortar, cement, mechanical and chemical anchoring work;
- Perform repairs of submersible pumps and chemical pumps;
- Perform filter and belt changes in different ventilation systems;
- Be able to drive forklifts and lifting platforms;
- Perform sealing work, painting when necessary;
- Make inspection tours to ensure the compliance of the building and services to preserve
accreditations in place. Make corrections as needed;
- Ensure the proper maintenance of the external environment, land, roof, security, access to entrances and
building exits;
- Ensure that his actions in his function support the manufacture of products with the quality and food safety criteria defined by the company;
- Any other related task.
Qualifications
- DEP in industrial construction and maintenance mechanics;
- Experience in the food industry in processes and production lines, an asset;-
- Good knowledge and ability to troubleshoot automated systems;
- Good knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic/electro-pneumatic systems and hydraulic/electrohydraulic;
- Knowledge and skills to weld with TIG in order to perform sanitary welds;
- Knowledge of the MS office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), an asset;
- Ability to perform manual tasks
- Ability to exert physical effort
- Ability to work in a team
- Thoroughness, Interpersonal skills, Diligence, Resourcefulness
