We are currently looking for an electrician to join a growing manufacturing facility in Brantford.
We are seeking someone with a heavy industrial background preferably from steel or metal.
Location: Brantford
Shift: 1 week on days and 1 week on afternoons (rotating weekly)
OT is paid past 8 hours on your workday.

DT 2x paid on Sundays.
Payrate: $40.20 per hour on days and 0.60cents on afternoons
Please note in order to be considered for this role you must have a 442a ticket.

Responsibilities
- Receives wiring diagrams, specifications and instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation and inspection of work to be done.
- Analyzes all types of drawings and wring diagrams to locate and install circuits and equipment to determine material or replacement needs and to select a logical approach to troubleshoot and repair problems.
- Plans details of working procedure to affect the most logical approach to the job.
- Considers all safety precautions and the proper isolation of circuits to cause a minimum of interference to operations.
- Determines necessary tools and materials, plans and performs work requiring a thorough working knowledge of electrical principles, wiring, specification codes, properties of various materials and principles of operation and application of equipment.
- Locates sources of trouble of any type of electrical equipment by tracing and testing circuits and inspecting for faulty operation.
- Dismantles, inspects, repairs, adjusts or replaces faulty parts and wiring on electrical equipment.
- Re-assembles, re-connects, tests and adjusts equipment for safe and proper operation.
- Performs work on “hot” lines as required. In emergencies shunts out defective coils in order to get equipment back in operation.
- Changes DC motor characteristics by shunting series coils etc. Installs conduit, fittings, switches controls, fixtures and wires and connects all types of electrical equipment as required for new installations or replacement of facilities.
Qualifications
- 442A certification Industrial Electrician diploma from a college
- Mid-level industrial electrician experience
- Knowledge of PLC's & Robotics would be considered an asset
