Randstad is hiring on behalf of one of our most prestigious partnering companies, Alstom Transport, to work on the exciting LRT Project.

We are hiring an Industrial Quality Inspector to work as part of our production team. This is a full-time position that requires focus, communication and initiative. You will need to inspect components/assemblies to establish criteria and specs, as well as maintain inspection records for components, vehicles and assembly procedures. You will be responsible for initiating appropriate quality improvement actions in support of the project’s quality objectives. You will enjoy a strong amount of autonomy to identify quality non-conformance and find solutions.

Who we want:

The best people for this job are dedicated to health and safety procedures, have good communication skills, and like seeing their efforts contribute to a high profile project. You will be responsible for assisting the Site Industrial Quality Director with creating inspection plans, verifying field modifications and/or first article inspection requirements, and performing supplier source inspections. You should be comfortable with a high degree of responsibility.

Shift schedule:
Monday to Friday (7am to 3:30pm)


To be successful in this role you will need to work collaboratively as well as independently.

Tasks and duties that may be asked of you include:
* Accepting or rejecting products as defined in the working instructions
* Accurately documenting NCR's (Non-Conformance Reports) and results of the inspections and testing, so as to launch the expected reaction
* Maintaining all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner
* Controlling the correct calibration of critical equipment and instrumentation used in the inspections
* Assisting in the writing and updating of inspection procedures, protocol, and checklists
* Evaluating problems and making initial recommendations for possible corrective action
* Working with the industrial teams to alert on risks of missing parts due to defects
* Recording inspection results in the industrial tools as required
* Reporting to the Industrial Quality Managers the synthesis of inspection results, including KPIs
* Contributing to site improvement initiatives and programs related to industrial quality

Qualifications
* 2-3 years of experience of quality inspection experience within medium/heavy manufacturing industry;
* Advanced competency with MS Excel and Word;
* High School Diploma required, Post-Secondary education a plus;
* SAP/GSI experience is necessary
* Knowledge of the railway industry is an asset
* Rigor, communication, and knowledge of industrial quality standards and tools
* Experience in operational activities and in document management
* A pro-active, organized, and independent personality
* Mechanical and electrical knowledge (comfort in reading diagrams/schematics, and in taking measurements)
