We are seeking an Instrumentation and Automation Engineer for a well established manufacturing client of ours in the Vancouver area.
The Instrumentation and Auotmation Engineer will contribute to the design, programming, and support of electronic instrumentation and automation products that complement automated control valves.


Responsibilities:

•Supporting our clients Instrumentation and Automation products and capabilities
•Produce electronic schematics, drawings, and technical data for customer specific applications and standard automation control panels
•Produce PLC control code for customer specific applications and standard automation control panels
•Build, assemble and test control panels for customer specific applications and standard automation control panels
•Writing and collating IOMs for customer specific applications and standard automation control panels
•Provide application and troubleshooting engineering support for automation and instrumentation products to customers
•Travel required for field start-up/ troubleshooting of control panels, instrumentation and control valves as well as training
•R&D development of new products
•Provide classroom training/demonstration sessions on products
•Responding to requests for price and delivery quotations
•Authorizing return of goods either for warranty, repair or replacement and providing validation through inspection
•Provide data acquisition assistance to other department engineers for their R&D projects
•Support team members at trade shows, conference and representative training



Qualifications:

•Bachelors of Engineering Graduate in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Automation, Controls or Process
•Experience with SolidWorks Electrical & Mechanical and AutoCAD would be an asset
•Experience in Siemens, Allen Bradly, and Horner PLC platforms would be an asset
•Knowledge of UL and CSA industrial panel design standards would be an asset
•Field experience with commissioning and start-up of technical products would be an asset
•Engineering skills in wiring and circuit analysis and associated tools
•Engineering skills in industrial panel design, including electronic components and drafting
•Engineering skills in PLC program development
•Scientific and analytical problem solving to resolve panel design and programming issues
•Knowledge of applied fluid mechanics, hydraulics, control systems
•Knowledge in data acquisition and / or signal conditioning and industrial communication protocols
•A strong command in English is mandatory, with excellent written and verbal skills
•Must be comfortable with public speaking to small to medium sized groups
•Able to travel for field start-up/troubleshooting of control panels, instrumentation and control valves
•Knowledge of waterworks’ systems including valves, pumps and related equipment would be an asset
