Responsibilities
Calculate accruals and accounting adjustments, preparing and posting journal entries for month-end close.
Reconcile accounts to ensure that all financial data is accurate.
Prepare financial statements & reports. Analyze and communicate results to the business.
Liaise with the business to understand and deliver their reporting needs.
Maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure.
Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
Support budget and forecasting activities.
Collaborate with the accounting and admin department to support overall department goals and objectives.
Use financial data to provide insight and strategic recommendations to senior management.
Assist in the development and implementation of new accounting procedures and policies.
Qualifications
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation or enrolment considered an asset.
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on accounting experience.
Strong proficiency in Excel and financial software programs.
Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and tasks efficiently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proactive, independent problem-solving ability.
Education or experience in programming languages such as SQL, DAX, & VBA are considered an asset.
